“Please Mom, I don’t want to eat anything” Adi seemed to be persistent.
“No, Adi…………………. I can’t let you go to sleep like this, yesterday too you seemed pretty disturbed” Sneha seemed curious.
“Just don’t feel like!” Adi’s eyes were swollen and Sneha was concerned as Adi always used to be that happy child, who never had any qualms about anything. For a mother it’s very easy to guess the mood of her kids and Sneha was a pro in that. She knew, something was bothering her beloved Son, “But what could it be?” ……………wondered Sneha.
Adi skipped dinner and Sneha too didn’t feel like eating anything.
“Tomorrow, I am going to make sure what the matter is ?”, thought Sneha and went to sleep.
Next day Morning, while serving breakfast to Adi, Sneha noticed a bruise on Adi’s leg.
“What’s the matter Adi? How you got this?”
Hearing to Sneha’s words Adi seemed to fumble at his own speech and reluctantly answered “Fell down in Assembly”
Sneha was sure that Adi was hiding some grave thing from her. Adi a fourth grader had never been like that.
Sneha thought of talking to her friend Renu, whose daughter happened to be Adi’s classmate. Sneha discussed her concern with Renu, who immediately asked her daughter if anything had happened in the class which was disturbing Adi, but there too Sneha didn’t get any thing positive that would help her knowing the truth behind her Son’s sad face. Sneha was getting tensed with each passing hour as she had never seen her cheerful boy in a state like this and that was disturbing her to the core.
Sneha made up her mind and decided to check in Adi’s room. She hurriedly looked into every nook and corner of the room. Cupboards, study table, files nothing was spared but still she couldn’t trace anything. Immensely disturbed, she sat down on Adi’s bed and tried to think what must have gone wrong with her kid, when suddenly her eyes caught sight of few torn pieces of paper in the trash can.
Keeping fingers crossed, she ran towards the can and tried to take the pieces out of the bin. One glance, and she could figure out that it was Adi’s handwriting. Immediately like a detective she tried to arrange the pieces such that she could read the content. After trying many permutation and combination finally she was successful and what she read blew her mind……………………..
“I want to escape from this rude world……………………Spare me Rohan and Arnav”
Tears started rolling down from Sneha’s eyes, as she sat on the floor looking at the torn pieces which within seconds had unfolded the truth Infront of her. It took no time for Sneha to guess that her Son is being bullied in his school and that was the reason behind his distress. Sneha hurriedly took the laptop and tried to explore the details about Bullying and how this issue can be addressed. Her mind was not allowing her to confront her Dear Son directly on this matter………………..
“What do I do? Adi should come and tell me from his end.” Finally, something stuck her. She was ready to face the war with her weapon at which she was meant to be the best.
As soon as Adi came from school, Sneha again noticed his pale face. She took his bag in her hand and then asked him to join her for lunch.
Once Sneha noticed Adi coming down the stairs, she started to sing loudly……………………………….
Bullying is no fun, Bullying shouldn’t be done
Bullying is so harmful, it makes life miserable,
Don’t be so sad, don’t feel bad
Be calm, Be cool and take a stand,
Don’t escape rather face!!
Don’t escape rather face!!
All of a sudden Adi came running and hugged Sneha. Sneha hugged him tight and asked “What happened Dear?” “Mom, I am being bullied by two Seniors in my School. Please Help Mom! Please help!”
